Originally from Rockford Illinois where she met and married Robert (Mr. Bob) Larson whose eligibility allowed her to join the VFW (Ladies) Auxiliary. Marianne retired from Illinois Bell, AT&T and Bell South with 36 years of service. She is a life member of VFW Auxiliary 11079 in Elgin, South Carolina. Marianne served as the first President when the auxiliary formed in 1992 and for the next several years. She served in many capacities at all levels culminating with Department President for 2011-2012.  Marianne served as Assistant Department Secretary for Jan Owens, held several department program chairmanships. She also served as VFW Department Administrative Assistant for many great Department Commanders.
