Hospital News Letter for Mar 2020-2021
Unwavering Support for Uncommon Heroes
This is probably the last Hospital Bulletins. Hopefully they supplied you with great information on Serving hospitalized veterans. This is a very difficult year to deal with. We have to find many ways that are way out of the box to let these veterans know that we still care.
VFW Auxiliary Mission
The Hospital Program Promotes volunteerism of member, non-members, youth and the families in local hospitals veterans’ homes, nursing homes, domiciliaries and both VA and non-VA medical centers and clinics. Opportunities vary based on the facility and age and abilities of the volunteer.
Support VA personnel and patients Help to alleviate fear, confusion Bring comfort, joy and normalcy
The aux has received a challenge from the new Volunteer Service Director . Vickie would like each aux to go on line to the Amazon wish list and purchase a queen size bed and matress for $400.00 and have it delivered to VA. This is for the Homeless Veterans Program when they receive housing. Any time during the calendar year 2021 would ,be great. DO NOT FORGET TO REPORT IT>
They also need is $5 or $10 gift cards to give out to the veterans as they come in for appointments. They can be gas cards, fast food cards, Dollar tree cards or any other kind you would like to give. They also need T shirts and under shirts in size SMALL and 2X or bigger. They have plenty of M, L, and XL.
Monetary donations are always needed for the food Pantry
